About TERRA Songwriting and Elijah Bisbee
About TERRA Songwriting
TERRA Songwriting is a growing community of nurturing and hard-working creatives.
We engage with each other at songwriting retreats, in songwriting groups, at concerts, during contests, and more.
Our Songwriting Retreats are focused on holding space for and encouraging creative progress. Breakthroughs come in many forms - a one-on-one conversation, a group listening session, co-writing activities, and more. Retreat attendees will have the opportunity to stretch their skills and grow their knowledge. Our songwriting retreats are modeled in a way to facilitate learning from each other and the unique perspectives we all have - in life and with writing songs.
Songwriting Groups are 3-week sessions conducted fully online. We are given prompts every week and expected to write and submit our work by the end of the week. After each session, participants will have successfully worked on 3 new songs, received feedback from peers, and connected with new songwriters.
We periodically host songwriting contests online and concerts in the Cleveland, OH area.
No matter if you’re a seasoned songwriter or someone who’s just picking it up, we believe everyone will find our community welcoming and valuable.
About Elijah Bisbee
Elijah Bisbee is a writer, composer, and retreat host.
In another life, Elijah traveled the world as a facilitator for a growing technology company. It was during this time that Elijah fell in love with community building and hosting. Getting his start as a facilitator for Apple, Elijah has learned to appreciate the art of asking questions and being patient with the response.
Before hosting and facilitation became one of Elijah’s passions, he spent years in Los Angeles working at a start-up record label. Here, Elijah managed the relationship between the label and it’s distributor, Universal Music.
In the early days of TERRA Songwriting, Elijah and his wife hosted house shows for the local music community in Cleveland. Through the act of hosting and networking, Elijah deepened in his desire to create focused space for connection, growth, and purposeful listening. The magic truly happens in moments of vulnerability and shared experience.
As a musician, Elijah has enjoyed composing and releasing songs that lean into this idea of creating space. At his core, Elijah believes in the sacredness of creating moments for people to feel inspired - his instrumental music focuses on this ideology completely. Recently, Elijah has explored and fallen in love with lyric writing - some of that work can be heard on the release titled “Therapy.”
Across a few albums and a couple years, Elijah’s music has been streamed over 2 million times - with multiple nods from TIDAL, Apple Music, and Spotify on editorial playlists. Whereas streaming is a part of the modern musician’s toolbox, it’s not the goal. Elijah is focused on learning, iterating, and bringing people along the journey.
